Featherly friend

With Christmas season in the mix I have been inspired to create.
I love creating but  I always get distracted by too many things I want to do and make that I am all over the map, I have made a few of these and plan to make more to give for Christmas.. Maybe one day I will get up enough guts to try and sell my creations that just keep adding up and being stored with my random traveling self...
Well here she is ...dun dun dun....

Hooties

It's a little "whooville" around my house
Meet Owl #1 This lovely friend I found at a garage sale. He loves living with the plants.

Owl#2
The unburnable candle, that's right, I am one of those people, and apparently so was the person before me.

Owl#3
My long awaited cookie jar. Lorissa and I found this beauty at a candy/antique store.
Like really could you have two better things in one store??
*Please note lovely pink chair~ This beaut was brought home with my roommate Rachelle after a night on the town.*

Owl #4 and 5
Meet my brass hooters, they are my view while doing dishes, these little guys came from a local
thrift in Richmond B.C
Owl #6
I found this blue hooter at a garage sale. The old man who sold it to me told me about his wife's friend who had 70 or so owls in her home... Here's too hoping I don't go that EXTREME!

Owl #7
My friend Paul just bought me this guy from a garage sale, he's pretty fabulous.

And there you have it, some of my Owl collection/ obsession.

Another reason to love Vancouver....

BLACKBERRIES
These babies grow wild.
30 min in the rain, a few cuts on our hands, and a few giant spiders later
We have three bucket's of these babies.

Silver Fish

Gross right?
Apparently these little buggers love  dark, moist, cracks and crannies... So pretty much they love Vancouver and not to mention my apartment.
Today I looked up at my beautiful bowl light in the kitchen to see a bunch of these critters scampering around.
I also found one or two in my tub, one in my cupboard, and one climbing on my roomies towel.. and after a bit of research I am pretty grossed out.. Especially since they are nocturnal,  now I  imagine them climbing all over my face as I sleep.
BLEH..
Wish me luck getting rid of these little buggers.. It doesn't sound like an easy task..

The things you see in Vancouver

The other day on the skytrain a gentleman came on pushing his bike. He was a tall fellow with his pants tucked into his socks and some huge marshmallow Nike type shoes on,
and tin foil under his bike helmet, and across underneath his chin. Like a tin foil helmet!!
As the skytrain went along, I found myself staring (not rudely just curiously) I wanted to ask so bad, and we were all wondering "Why do you have tin foil on your head?"
And than to top it off he pulls out a hairspray bottle and starts spraying the tin foil.. not his hair the tin foil.
Wowsa.
Interesting to say the least.

Vancouver

Alright peeps... I am here and ready to update.
It's been a loooonnng week and two days. I arrived on Mother's day after a blissful drive through the mountains. My friend Paul made the trek back with me after he was done renos at his sister Andrea's (aka one of my besties). Once we arrived in Vancouver we went to his sister Yvonne's to visit her Tammy and Andrea (they flew up that day, us 15 hour drive them 1 hour 10 min flight little buggers).
So far things have gone anything but smoothly. I was so happy to arrive at Paul's set up my room and nest. Just as I was getting cozy his roommate informed him that there had been a "misunderstanding" and that he thought I was only staying there for 2 weeks until Rachelle arrived *note Rachelle doesn't arrive until July 7th* and was feeling less than comfortable with me there. So Sunday I once again had to pack my things and move.
I am now staying with Yvonne, and I am more than appreciative that she welcomed me into her home with open arms. Although I must admit I am feeling a tad homesick. Yvonne has 3 boys, one of which I am borrowing his room, so I feel like a tad bit of an intruder, but I am hoping those Unicorns start peeing me some skittles and things start looking up.
Today I started applying for jobs so I hope my phone rings off the hook tomorrow... unfortunately I doubt that will be the case. Meh. What can you do.
Anyways my peeps I will be sure to upload some photos once I steal them from Paul. I have been too lazy to charge my camera.
Sunshine and lollipops to you all

Packing

My dreams have been quite entertaining to say the least. I am a dreamer of dreams.. and not just any dream, dreams that jump from one situation to another, make no sense and are often so ridiculous I don't even want to tell people the entire story cause I am a little embarassed that my mind could come up with such things.
The cause of all these dreams... STRESS!
I thought packing was going to be a breeze! and that a week would be plenty PLENTY of time... well boy was I wrong the clock is ticking by way too quickly. Seperating your house into four piles which include 'Stay, Donate, Storage, and Come' is quite the task. Like really what do you pack to take with you when you are not sure how long you will be staying. I am planning for at least a year.. So what am I going to need for a year? Yes I probably don't NEED my owl cookie jar but serious it is way too cute to put into storage! I probably don't need to bring ALOT of things but just can't seem to part. I want a little bit of home with me right??
