I don't know what it is... but when you cut up a licorice into bite size pieces, it just tastes that much better. Mmm.. Nibs.. One of my favorites.

Nibs are the best! You know what else is better? When someone else makes it, they can make exactly the same as you, but it is always better when they do it!
